CAP D'AGDE & AGDE EVENTS & THINGS TO DO 2009


There are numerous events, shows, amusements, entertainments, VW car, GTI car, & Harley Davidson motorbike weekends, tennis tournaments, golf tournaments, music recitals and concerts and a host of other things to do in Cap D'Agde, Agde and the surrounding area every year and 2009 is another event packed summer with a special treat for all the cycling fans with the 5th stage of the Tour de France due to start from the centre of Cap D' Agde in July. May/June

Saturday 30th May and Monday 1st June.

Sand Sculpture festival Rochelongue beach.

Sunday 21st June Music Festival.
Dance and Music in the Streets, Squares and along the Quays.
27th June 2009 Le Grau en Fete.
Fete at Grau D' Agde sea front.



July/August




Saturday 4th July to Sunday 5th July.
Golf Tournament.

Wednesday 8th July 2009 Tour De France.
Start of the 5th Stage of the Tour De France.

Friday 10th July to Tuesday 14th July Firework displays.
Several nights of fireworks at the different nearby towns to celebrate Bastille Day. Culminating on the 14th at Cap D' Agde.


Wednesday 22nd July Concert.


Starting on the 22nd there are a series of concerts, one each week, by well known artists performing on a floating stage on the river Herault in Agde.

Thursday 16th July until Thursday 27th August.
For 7 Thursday evenings from 16th July there is a spectacular light show in the town of Agde on the river Herault.

Saturday 8th August Guitar music.
Guitar evening in Agde when all different styles of guitar playing can be heard.

Thursday 13th and Friday 14th August.
Beach Soccer tournament.

Saturday 29th August to Sunday 6th Sept Brescoudos bike week.
This is a week for all you Harley Davidson fans when the area is invaded by hundreds of beautifully polished motorbikes. See below for more details.

September


Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September.



The Volkswagen meeting. This event, like the Harleys, is held every year the weekend following the Harleys, when hundreds of VW cars converge on Cap D' Agde for the weekend.

Friday 18th to Sunday 20th September Golf.
A 3 day Pro-Am Golf tournament where mixed teams of Professional and Amateur golfers compete.

Things to do


  • During July & August Aqualand is open and a great place for those fond of water and water slides etc.

  • July & August the fairground is open in the evenings.

  • Dino-Land for the younger children open most of summer.

  • There are a range of watersports available during the summer.

  • Coche D'Eau (water bus for the port) open most of year.

  • Tour Train, this is a motorised train and carriages which slowly travels around Cap D'Agde to give a general tour of the town. Open most of the year.

  • Casino, open all year.

  • Various Night Clubs, open all summer.

  • Shopping for gifts or maybe even a holiday home.

  • Golf Club. Open all year.

  • Aquarium. Open most of the summer.

  • Saturday Market in Cap D' Agde, this is quite modest out of season but becomes a large market during the summer.

  • Thursday Market in Agde, this is a large market selling a wide range of goods. (please note that in France most markets finish about lunch time).


    The Harley Davidson Week



    The Harley Davidson week takes place every year during the first week in September. Motorbikes of all varieties flood into Cap D' Agde during the week, although there are many more Harleys than any other make. The week culminates at the weekend with the bikes being exhibited around the Cap and parades of the bikes through the surrounding towns. For all you bikers this is a week not to be missed.
